The Juvenile Arthritis Foundation Australia (JAFA) has announced the appointment of Amelia Seeto as Chief Executive Officer, marking an exciting new chapter in JAFA’s advocacy for the 10,000 Australian children living with juvenile arthritis.

Amelia brings more than 15 years of experience across health, disability, homelessness, women’s rights and social justice. Her career has been defined by a commitment to elevating the voices of people whose stories are too often overlooked. She holds a master’s degree in strategic communication and has worked in Australia, Spain and the UK for a number of social enterprises and charities, including Macular Disease Foundation Australia, Spinal Cord Injuries Australia, Women’s Aid and The Big Issue Group.

Since 2021, Amelia has served as Director of Marketing & Communications at the NORTH Foundation, a charity supporting public hospitals and medical research where she built a high-performing team, transformed the organisation’s brand presence and helped drive significant growth.

“Juvenile arthritis is one of the most misunderstood childhood diseases in Australia,” Seeto said. “Families deserve visibility, advocacy and a health system that recognises the seriousness of this condition. JAFA has already built something powerful – now it’s time to scale it.”
